A team exists to be smarter, more efficient, and stronger than its individual members. The purpose of
the team is to share responsibilities and tasks and to contribute with different perspectives and skills.
In a well-functioning team, members benefit from each other, and through their collaboration, they
can organize, lead, and develop an organization and its operations.

This sounds simple but can be challenging. How well do we understand things together? How good
are we at thinking together? How do we support each other? What is the atmosphere in the group?
What is our group behaviour? What enables or hinders effective collaboration? What is there that
we don’t know that we don’t know?

Communication is the key

Leadership and teamwork are to a large extent based on communication. Unintentional communication, or even a lack of communication will lead to poor results for both a leader and a team – while consciously developed communication creates prosperous organizations and more efficient teams where members perform and feel better.

Many leaders and teams are good at communicating, but there is always room for improvement. Parts of the communication might be unconscious and undeveloped – it is when these parts become visible and developed that it is possible to gain access to larger parts of the potential within the team and the leadership.

Ledarstudion’s work with leaders and teams aim to raise self-awareness and develop their communication. The training provides each leader with increased self-esteem, access to practical tools and a greater awareness of themselves and their co-worker’s, to become better leaders. It also creates openness, trust and psychological safety I the group and helps the team become more efficient, feel better and have an increased collective intelligence.

Team and group development

When you and your team choose to train with us, there are two components that will be in focus during our sessions. On one hand we will pay attention to each individual, their personality, their experiences, and their abilities. Since teams and groups consist of individuals, personal communication will be part of what we focus and work on. On the other hand, we also look at the whole team and it’s abilities and processes – the interactions that make up the foundation for a sustainable teamwork. Together these two focuses create results and builds the organization’s culture.

Goals

In conjunction with planning and preparing the development work for your team, we will have a discussion with you regarding your goals and vision for the team development.

We usually work with teams and management teams that wish to become more effective, create and build trust within the team and/or the organization. Groups that wish to invest in their leaders and in their leadership, teams who wants to strengthen their communication and group culture. It might be a new constellation of members in the management team who wants to come together faster. Who are facing or just coming out of great change, who feel that they are stuck in their old ways or who just know that there is more to be gained from spending time developing themselves as a group and as individuals.

Regardless of your goal and focus, an important part of the process is that the team put into words what they see as development areas for them and agree upon significant goals.

Program layout

In our programs for teams, management teams and individuals, we suggest sessions that recur over time in order to work with tools and situations which the participants can try out or reflect upon in their everyday life before the next session and the next step with Ledarstudion. Preferably we do two-day sessions with 4-6 weeks in between. The length of the programs can vary between 4-12 days depending on the scope, focus and content.
